2015 Acura TLX Spy Photos
It’s no secret that Acura is working on a replacement for the aging TL and TSX. Our inside connections within Acura have given us some useful information regarding the brands new mid-size luxury sport sedan. The TLX will be available with your choice of either FWD or AWD with either a 4-cyl or V6 powering the wheels. No word yet on transmission choices but we’re hoping the 6-speed AWD model will return. We also hear the design language will be more reminiscent of the successful 2004-2008 TL. Apparently, Acura designers have already been working on a clay model for the TLX, so expect the concept version to be shown either at the end of this year or early next year at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show. Once Acura shows us a concept, the production version is likely to follow six months later, so figure by this time next year and you’ll start seeing the 2015 TLX in showrooms. In the mean time, our good friends at Temple of VTEC have caught some spy photos of what they believe to be the upcoming TLX. You can’t see much in the photos but we do see the company’s [now signature] “Jewel-Eye” LED headlights shining through. The size of the car appears to be closer in length to the current TL, which is too big in our opinion. Hopefully, the new TLX will receive a weight drop and size reduction, similar to what the 2013 Accord was graced with.
